NaPoWriMo #2

Bone Fever

I breathe underwater.
I'm ice deep at the
bottom of the ocean.

In my ribs, I find a hole
of winter, of things lost and
burning silently.

Shore lights swim through the
dark:
they want me, but I
don't want them.

Here we are, steel statues
at the bottom of the ocean.

The second stanza reminds me really strongly of Wintergirls <3

I was going to say the same thing, particularly the line hole of winter. I loved that.

I really like the images of this poem.

Still being inspired by Miley, Maya? ;)

Hi, Maya. Very impressive! You'll find poems for adults, young adults and kids on the NaPoWriMo 2010 page at www.gregoconnell.com. Keep up the great writing - Greg =)

@Danielle: Yes...still ;) And I'm still laughing at your comment.

@Erin: I told Danielle over chat - and this is true - that I had to listen to Miley's "Bottom of the Ocean" on repeat to get this poem to form and work...haha, it paid off I guess :)

I think what strikes me most about your poetry is your voice and the way you arrange the words on the page. It feels effortless, and I love it. I'm so glad you're posting poetry on here again. =)

And I wanted to thank you for your kind comment from a few days ago, it made my day.
